Update on Devon

As of 3:30 am:

Most of you may already know, but just in case you don't, here's what went on last night:

Tiffany started running a fever while she was in labor which meant there was an infection. They gave her antibiotics and decided to see if she would progress past 8 cm. The fever wouldn't come down and she wasn't progressing so they decided to do a C-Section.

When Devon came out (born at 11:51 pm) he was very still and quiet so they barely showed him to Tiff and shipped him out. He is in NICU with a right lung that is collapsed or has pneumonia and a left lung that has an air leak. They gave him antiobiotics in case it is antibiotics. Devon is also on 100% oxygen with a bubbble around his head. He is breathing on his own which is good. Matt persuaded them to let me, Mom, Grandma and Chiara see him one at a time but we couldn't talk to him or touch him. He is a BIG baby - 9 lbs. 15 oz. and 20 in. long. He doesn't look like a newborn!

Since we all got in so late we are just now getting up and around and as far as I know none of us have talked to Tiffany or Matt this morning. I'll update as soon as I hear something. Also, Matt did manage to get the nurses to let him take pictures without a flash so maybe when we go up there we can get them downloaded and posted.
